‘Don’t Ever Get Old’ – Podcast, Episode 1

Heather Jeal from Powell River was just a stranger when she stepped into the recording studio to record the first ever episode of the Podcast, ‘Don’t Ever Get Old’. I suppose, in many ways she was still a stranger when she left, but during the hour we spent together, she talked with such candor, wisdom and pragmatism, all liberally sprinkled with a lovely sense of humour, it felt like talking to a friend. Who knew that oral hygiene is thought to be linked to risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease (AD)? We all know that brushing our teeth regularly prevents tooth delay and other nasty conditions you can pick up in you mouth, but brushing your teeth twice per day and removing the gunk from between the teeth is associated with a lower risk in developing AD. Conversely, poor oral hygiene is associated with a higher risk of developing AD. Listen to the brilliantly plain speaking Dr. Michael Mosely breaking down the science.
